Music Discovery

Discovering the joy of music making, enhancing each child’s natural sense of music, exploring rhythm/movement/musical instruments and creativity….this is the wonderful introduction to music for your child.  We provide each child the foundation for a life of music enjoyment. 

Each class is 30 minutes of songs, games and activities to explore:

Creative Movement:  Responding to rhythm and song using large and small motor activity

Learning Rhythm:  Creating and responding to rhythm patterns

Music Appreciation:  Exposure to music of different cultures and styles.  Learning the sounds of different     instruments

Fundamentals of Music:  Learning pitch timbre, volume, form and style

Singing:  Celebrating our own capacity to make music

Ear Training:  Learning to listen and hear differences in music.

Creating Our Own Music:  Building instruments, composing songs, exploring music in the world around us.

Music Discovery is taught by Louis Ontko.

Classes are offered to Honey Bears through Field Mice classes, meeting on Mondays and Wednesdays for 6 classes per month.  The children explore the world of music through stories, games, dance singing and a variety of creative activities.
